My practice focuses exclusively on family and matrimonial law. As a litigator in divorce and family law courts for many years, I have extensive experience working with clients in crisis and in high-conflict matters, including domestic violence.
Divorce and family law issues are notoriously emotional for the parties and the children involved. The process can take too long, and can cost too much. In these tough economic times, less expensive, less adversarial and less traumatic solutions are essential.
Family Practice Areas
Divorce
A divorce involves living apart, decisions about parenting the children and sharing time with them, child support, marital finances, and the division of property and debt. These cases may require litigation but can often be settled out-of- Court.
Child & Spousal Support
Support obligations for a spouse or the parties’ children are established after financial disclosure, negotiations and settlement, or motion practice or trial.
Child Custody & Parenting Time
Co-parents must address decision-making for their children and share parenting time. Many cases settle by agreement after negotiation, though the court may intervene and decide the matter where needed.
Family Violence
These cases require court intervention. Domestic violence can impact custody, parenting time, and support and divorce outcomes. I handle Orders of Protection in New York and Restraining Order proceedings in New Jersey.
RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENTS
Couples may prefer to enter into a legal agreement prior to or during the marriage to protect their assets or divide their property to avoid litigation if they were to divorce or if either of them were to die during the marriage. Couples who are not married may seek to establish property or cohabitation agreements or those affecting support and custody of their children.

Mediation:
As a neutral mediator, I can help you discuss and identify issues to be resolved, provide information on the law, and assist the parties in reaching agreement in an out of court, non-adversarial setting.Mediation Review:
I work with clients as their advocate before, during, and after mediation. I help them brainstorm settlement options and review, advise, and finalize agreements reached in mediation.Collaborative Law:
This process involves negotiations in in-person meetings between the parties and the collaborative lawyers.The parties and attorneys make a commitment to keeping the matter out of Court and to reaching agreement.
POST-JUDGMENT MATTERS
When circumstances change after divorce or a Court case, I help clients modify prior agreements or Orders on support, custody, and parenting time, and handle enforcement of prior Orders and Judgments of Divorce.
